1.  What is a Maid-Rite?  The Maid-Rite is a unique, low fat, 100% fresh, loose-meat ground beef sandwich that is prepared to order.  Maid-Rite beef is cooked to perfection and then served on a warm bun.  Mustard, catsup, onions and pickles are the perfect toppings.  Maid-Rite delivers a delicious taste treat that our customers crave!  Although you can find Maid-Rite recipes online, there is no substitute for our secret combination of delicious seasonings, served in a traditional malt shop environment. 

2.  What areas are targeted for Maid-Rite franchise growth?  For over 80 years, Maid-Rite has operated restaurants throughout the states of Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota and Illinois.  We now offer you the opportunity to join our system in areas where we have a strong brand identity and existing franchise support.  

3.  What is the profile of the ideal Maid-Rite franchisee?  Most of our franchisees are single unit owners/operators with prime real estate locations in their communities.  They bring along successful business and personal experience, although not necessarily "restaurant" experience.  We also work with existing multi-unit operators of non-competing hospitality brands.  Maid-Rite is the perfect addition to a hospitality portfolio, allowing the multi-unit developer to create a second or third brand. 

4.  How much will it cost to develop my Maid-Rite Restaurant?  You will need a minimum of $50,000 to $125,000 in out-of-pocket cash to open your Maid-Rite.  The balance of the development costs can be financed by lenders or equipment leases.  For a typical Maid-Rite located in a leased 1,500 sq. ft. building, the total cost can range between $200,000 and $325,000.  This includes the franchisee fee, equipment, millwork, inventory, furniture, fixures, signage and working capital.  In a free-standing restaurant, construction and land costs would be additional expenditures.  You will find more financial information on this website and in the Maid-Rite Franchise Disclosure Document.
